Adagio's portfolio is based on ultra-low temperature ablation (ULTA) designed to produce large footprint endocardial lesions extending through the depth of both diseased and healthy cardiac tissue, by itself, or with the added benefit of cardiac electroporation (Pulsed Field Cryoablation or PFCA).

Catheter-based ultra-low temperature ablation (ULTA) is Adagio's Medical proprietary technology. As compared to commercially available catheter cryoablation technologies which utilize N2O refrigerant at Tb = -88.50C and rely on slow cell dehydration for lesion formation, ULTA utilizes "near-critical" N2 flow at Tb=-1960C to rapidly cool target heart cells to temperatures consistent with formation of intracellular ice and almost instantaneous cellular death. Unique feature of ULTA technology is its ability to produce large footprint, deep myocardial lesions unattenuated by the presence of the scar with high degree of control over catheter stability and lesion dimensions without the need for irrigation and other clinical limitations characteristic of the alternative current and emerging ablation technologies.
